UIT SENIORS CENTER: Utility Bills from age group 55-74yrs we will no longer accept any bills. Seniors from the age 75-79yrs the Senior Dept. will continue to take bills until May 31, 2024. 80yrs and over will continue to have their utility bills taken care of, you must bring in your utility bill to the center. Also we will be doing yard work, maintenance, mowing, tree trimming, trash pickup, old objects removal (furniture, appliances, etc.) with Nathaniel Cornpeach at Senior Citizens. If any seniors are needing any of these things done give us a call so we may reach your need. Don’t forget the Pot Luck talking circle will be on Friday May 31, 2024 with the guest of Painted Horse for Q&A. UIT RECREATION: Activities are as Follows:

  • 4th of July All Indian Coed Softball Tourney will be held on July 5th – 6th, 2024 in Roosevelt UT. Deadline is on June 26th half due by deadline to hold spot. Awards 1st – 4th MVP & All-stars & 220/240 USSSA Bats. Entry fee is $350. Discount hotel is the Best Western Plus Landmark = Code: “Softball”
  • 2024 Tri-Ute Games Held on July 10-13, 2024. Sporting event includes: Basketball, Co-Ed, Volleyball, Archery, Swimming, Skateboarding, Golf, Wrestling, and Traditional Hand Games. This is for Enrolled Tribal Members and 1st & 2nd Descendants with CIB. Boys & Girls Ages 9 – 18 yrs. We are looking for Athletes & Coaches for the upcoming Tri-Ute Games to be held in Ignacio Colorado this year. Come be a part of the Ute Tribe as a player or coach. Packets can be picked up at the Ute Tribe Recreation Dept and packets are due by May 3, 2024.

PAINTED HORSE DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM: With their Activities Coming Up: One massage per month will be available for individuals who are eligible for services through the Indian Health Clinic free of charge while funding lasts. Contact Lisa Nelson directly to schedule an appointment at 828-7891. If you schedule an appointment and you can’t make it, please make sure you cancel before your scheduled appointment. There is a charge for no shows.

  • For the Health of It Gain knowledge on healthy eating patterns, weight loss management, stress management and coping skills. Classes are every Tuesday from 4:45pm-5:45pm.
  • Elder’s Workouts & Stretching Classes Every Mondays from 11am-12pm at Painted Horse.
  • Women’s Fitness Group Every Friday Morning from 10:00am-12:00pm.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION: Has new times of operation.

*Operation Hours are Monday – Friday from 8am-6pm.

*Issuance Hours are Monday – Friday from 8am-11:45am & 1pm-5:30pm.

 

UTERO: Information Meeting will be held on May 30, 2024 at 1:00pm located at the Fort Duchesne Community Bldg. This is for Tribal & Indian preference companies (only). Your presence would be appreciated. Director, commissioners & Utero will be present to answer questions.

 

WATER SETTLEMENT UTE TRIBE AGRICULTURAL: Hay Sales on Tuesday & Fridays Only Crop Grass Hay $45 a Bale. Tribal Members are limited to 18 bales per month, no semi loads, no holds must be picked up at time of service. Purchaser of Hay must be present of time of sale and must have a valid Tribal ID No Exceptions. If you have any questions call the office @ 435-722-3136 or Clark Jones @ 435-823-7433. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

 

UTE INDIAN TRIBE FISH & WILDLIFE: Tribal Members you may register for the Cougar & Coyote Bounty Program at the UIT Fish & Wildlife Dept, Registration will need to be completed prior to the taking of any animal or bounty will not be paid. Bounty will end on May 30, 2024. There is also Spring/Summer exterior boundary Black Bear permits available. Additional question can be directed at 435-722-5511.

 

4TH OF JULY POWWOW: Will be held July 5-7, 2024.

 

SUNDANCE’S:

  • 1ST Sundance: Chief Jerry C Tapoof will be held July 26-29, 2024. Feast is on Monday July 29, 2024.
  • 2nd Sundance: Chief Henry Dawee Howell will be held August 16-19, 2024. Feast is on Monday August 19, 2024.

 

LIHEAP/LIHWAP: Is no longer accepting applications for the Heating Program but will accept applications for elders only for 60 years and older. There is still funding for the Water Program. Please feel free to come in and fill out an application. Documents needed are: *Identification as a Tribal ID or Driver License

*Social Security Cards for entire household for eligibility

*Proof of income from employment for all adults

*Birth Certificates for children 0 to 5 yrs only

*FYI Tribal Percapita is not considered income.

ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT: Is providing limited financial assistance to help tribal members 65+ with utility assistance contingent upon funding availability. This includes Gas/Propane, Water/Garbage, Electric and Phone. Payment will only be authorized for services that directly benefit the elder submitting an application for services, billing must be in the name of the elder requesting assistance. To apply you must complete an Elder Utility Assistance Form and submission of respective utility billing to the Administration Department for processing as soon as possible.

 

ENERGY & MINERALS: Access Permit and Business License Important Dates: *Business License expires October 1, 2024 (late fees will apply) *Access Permits expire every six months’ dates are March 31, 2024 & September 30, 2024. Applications are available online www.utetribe.com or stop by the Energy & Mineral Office Monday – Thursday 8:00am-4:30 or you may give them a call with any questions at 435-725-4950.

 

UIT SANITATION: Friendly Reminder avoid placing the following particles in trash bins and dumpsters. Rocks, dirt or sod, tree limbs, car parts, fence posts and wire, dead animals or animal parts, major appliances, hot ashes, batteries, bulky scrap metals, building materials or waste, oil or paint not contained in leak proof containers, bodily fluids. Should any of these particles be found at time of scheduled pick up, your garbage will be rejected for pick up. Also, be sure to have your bins out for pickup by 6am.

 

UIT WATER SYSTEMS PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Please do not flush wipes, paper towels or pour grease down drains. They are causing havoc along the sewer lines. Spring Amboh; Billing Clerk is asking all costumers to update contact information such as mailing & physical addresses and phone number. She may be reached at 435-725-7088.

UTE TRIBE TRANSIT: Is hosting a Fort Washakie Trip June 7-9. Leaving from the Ute Plaza June 7th @ 10:00am. FYI room cost is your own responsibility there are 17 rooms available @Shoshone Rose Casino at $115.00 rate with a $50 deposit when you reserve. There are 15 rooms available @Wind River Casino at 105.00 room rate with a $50 Deposit when you reserve. Please call Transit or Motor Pool to reserve you a spot at 435-725-4984.

- Has a wheelchair accessible van that can be checked out for medical use when needed for the membership. Call Motor Pool at 435-722-2245 for more information.

- The Ute Indian Tribe Transit Department helps accommodate the transportation needs of the surrounding communities in the basin. We have three fixed routes that run Monday thru Thursday. We have morning routes and afternoon routes that run from Myton, Whiterocks,

Randlett, and Roosevelt. When needing transportation to any appointments or to do your day to day activities we do have an On Demand Driver also who we can schedule your transportation with. You can call the office at 435-725-4984 anytime to schedule transportation we do ask you to call a day in advance. You will be placed on our board with time, pick up location and destination. Please be informed if you can’t make your scheduled pick up please call our office and inform us. If you are a no show to three scheduled pick up’s when you call you will be placed on the schedule at the driver’s discretion. Our Boarding fees are as follows:

Regular $1.00 / Children (1yr-7yrs) $0.50 / Students (8yrs-18yrs) $0.75 / Seniors (60yrs & older) $0.75. We also provide Passenger Discount Passes Tickets 10 – rides $8.00 / 20 – rides $16.00 / 30 – rides $24.00. Student / Senior Discount are 10 – rides $7.00 / 20 – rides $14.00 / 30 – rides $21.00

Discount passes can be purchased at the office or from any Transit Driver.

WIOA “WORKFORCE INNOVATION & OPPORTUNITY ACT”: This program is as temporary basis employment program and provides financial support to individuals trying to obtain a High School Diploma through UIT Adult Ed Program. While under the program, participants can receive assistance for Childcare and Training expenses, if applicable. The program is available to all Native American (Ute Indian Tribe, Tribal Descendants, and Other Tribes etc.) if interested contact Rachel Shore at 435-725-4218 or stop by the Human Resource Office to pick up an WIOA application.

 

EMERGENCY EMPLOYMENT: Is Accepting Applications.

Responsibilities: To perform various general or manual labor duties & cultural events (Bear dance, Powwow’s & Sundance’s) for the Ute Indian Tribe. You must complete application and Submit two forms of I.D. FYI this is a 9-month temporary full-time job position program for Tribal Members only. UTE TRIBE SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM: Is now accepting applications for the summer youth 2024 employment program. Program eligibility ages 14 – 21 years old. Deadline is on May 23, 2024.
