ELECTION COMMITTEE 2023: The following is the calendar for the election of 2023.
- March 20, 2023 – Nomination Opens at 8:00am at the Ute Tribe Auditorium.
- March 30, 2023 – Candidates Night at 5:00pm at the Ft. Duchesne Auditorium.
- April 3, 2023 – Close nomination at 6:00pm.
- April 13, 2023 – Candidates Night for Primary Candidates at 5:00pm at the Ute Tribe Auditorium.
- April 17, 2023 – Primary Election opening at 8:00am closing at 6:00pm.
- April 27, 2023 – Candidates Night for General Candidates at 5:00pm at the Ute Tribe Auditorium.
- May 3, 2023 – General Election opening at 8:00am closing at 6:00pm.
BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS IRRIGATION: The 2023 O&M Irrigation bills were mailed to water users March 2, 2023. Payment Due Date is: April 1, 2023. Additional questions please call 435-722-4341 or 435-722-4344
UTE TRIBE SENIOR PROGRAM: Has positions available for a Laborer, driver, and home health, if you are interested please contact the Human Resource Dept at 435-725-4009
If you are having meals delivered to your home and you are not going to be home, please leave a designated place or cooler for your meal to be placed or call the center, we please ask that you tie up your dogs for the safety of our drivers.
- Remember if you are submitting your utilities for payment please continue to pay on your utility bills and you must call and make arrangements letting the company know we are going to be submitting payment for your account. Or they can email us your bill at Kathirans@utetribe.com or Doylenec@utetribe.com
- If any Elders are needing water we can deliver to your home or you can pick up at the Senior Building, if any Elders are needing a ride for grocery shopping the Senior Outreach drivers can assist from 9:00am-11:00am. Meal delivery start at 11:30am. Doylene Cesspooch the Out Reach Manager can be reached after hours at 435-823-1939. If you should have any questions, feel free to call the center at any time at 435-725-4282.
WATER SETTLEMENT: Grass Hay Sale on Tuesday & Fridays. Tribal Members are limited to 18 bales Per Month Only. No Semi Loads, No Holds, and No Credit, No Exceptions! Tribal Member must be present time of sale and have valid Tribal I.D. If you have any questions, please call the feedlot at 435.646.3540 or Marcus at 435.823.7313 or Byron Mt. Lion at 435.823.7317.
LIHEAP: Is now accepting applications for the year 2023. She still has funding to get help with your Water Bill (Water Only) Please contact Lora Garcia LIHEAP/LIHWAP Coordinator at 435.725.4878 or on her cell phone at 435.823.2080 You may also pick up a LIHEAPLIHWAP application at the Tribal Offices front foyer, it is the same application for both programs.
UTE TRIBE COMMUNITY CLEANUP: Happy Earth Day is April 22, 2023 on the Uintah & Ouray Reservation. Tribal Departments & Supporting Departments this will be held at the Fort Duchesne Community Bldg. from 8:30am-4:30pm. Opening prayer song Red Spirit Drum Group, Open remarks Business Committee Members. Safety meeting, designated areas, maps, gloves, trash bags, vests etc., will be given out after all information has been provided.
Breakfast provided by Strata Networks & Moonlake Electric. Lunch provided by Ute Energy.

UIT RECREATION: Activities are as follows:
- 65TH ALL INDIAN TOURNAMENT OF TRIBAL CHAMPS Will be held March 23-25, 2023. 10 player limit, you will need a Tribal ID or Proof of enrollment of a Federally Recognized Tribe a Photo ID is Required, Players must be 18 years or older. Half payment required by Entry Deadline. Must be paid in full by the first game NO EXCEPTIONS. NO REFUNDS. Entry fee: $350 & Deadline is March 16, 2023.
- April 13, 2023. Midget Wrestling at the Fort Duchesne Gym at 6:00pm.
- April 19, 2023. Utes Football Conditioning starts at 5:00pm.
- May 6, 2023. Randlett Beardance Horseshoe Tournament starts at 8:00am.
- June 7-8, 2023. Grow Basketball Skills Camp with Ro Wiggins.
- June 30 – July 1, 2023. UIT Recreation 4th of July Softball Tournament.

CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH: Activities are as follows:
- CAP Meeting will be held this Thursday March 16, 2023 at 11am at the Ute Family Service Bldg. It is not too late to host an event.
- Pageant will be held on Tuesday March 28, 2023 at the Fort Duchesne Community Bldg. @ 5:00pm. get ahold of Austin McCook for applications.
- Art Work Contest – Theme is Protected Powerful Indigenous Peescheu. There are four age groups to enter. Grades:
- 2nd – 5th grade
- 6th -8th grade
- 9th -12th grade.

UIT EDUCATION DEPARTMENT: USU Spring Semester 2023 registration is now open. Maygen Simm Academic Advisor is at the UIT Education building from 1:30pm – 5pm every Tuesday, stop by to apply for admission, enroll in classes, or learn more about what USU offers. EAGLE VIEW ELEMENTARY: Native American Pageant 2023-2024 applications are available at the front office at Eagle View Elementary. Young girls grade 3rd through 7th are eligible to participate. Application due date is on March 24, 2023 at 3:30pm please turn in a complete application to Eagle View’s front office. Pageant date is set for April 28, 2023 at 10:00am in the Eagle View Auditorium. WATER SYSTEMS: Public Service Announcement to the members of our community due to the recent snow fall and the demand on UTWS a priority list will be used to address the emergencies that are occurring within our communities:
Priority #1
Water line leaks, repairs, and maintenance of the Tribal Public Water System
Sewer/Septic leaks, repairs, and maintenance.
Priority #2
Snow Plowing of driveways for the following tribal members: 1.) Tribal Elders, 2.) Members that are on Dialysis, and 3.) Members with a disability. All other requests will be addressed after these jobs have been completed. We are working with other departments to meet the requests of our communities. Due to the high demand in calls, we are not able to get to everyone in a timely manner. For those members that are not listed above, if you have family members or friends that you can reach out to assist you we would appreciated it. UTE TRIBE HOUSING PROGRAM: Please be advised that all homeowners that are participating in the Tribal Housing Program you are required to have home owner’s insurance. Please provide the Ute Tribe Housing Program with insurance coverage to your homes. Please contact The Housing Program Director Debra Jones if you should have any questions in regards to this matter. UTE TRIBE FISH & WILDLIFE: Turkey permits will be available Monday March 20, 2023 at 8:00am. Also, Spring, Summer and Multi Season Exterior Bear Application are still available until this Thursday March 16, 2023. There is no longer a 1 year wait period for Exterior Boundary Bear Permits, please come by the office to fill out an application. PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE:
- Hazard Communication & Bloodborne Pathogens Training will be held on March 16, 2023 from 3:30pm-4:30pm located at the Tribal Administration Auditorium. To register contact Julitha Serawop at 435-725-4055.
- Indian Health Service of Environmental Health & Engineering (OEH&E) is offering a Certified Food Manager (CFM) certification course on March 17, 2023 from 8:30AM to 5:00PM at the Ute Crossing Grill in Fort Duchesne, UT.
Advance registration is required by March 3rd. Seating is limited to 35 students.
- Drive Thru Vaccination Clinic & Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic on March 24th & 25th, 2023 at the Fort Duchesne Community Bldg.

UTE LANGUAGE AND TRADITIONS DEPARTMENT: Evening classes will be postponed until further notice we will re-evaluate on a monthly basis in the winter months. The office is still open for individual and small groups to come in and learn during the regular tribal hours. for additional questions you may call the Ute Language Department at 435.725.2876.
RANDLETT COMMUNITY: There will be a Community Meeting every first Friday of the month at 6pm, On Sunday evenings, Narcotic Anonymous Meetings will proceed at 7pm. EMERGENCY EMPLOYMENT: Is now Accepting applications for the 2023 Laborer Work Pool. KAREN AMES: Will be at the Seniors Building in Fort Duchesne Tuesdays and Thursdays to review and enroll qualifying members into Medicare. If you are 65 or older or have been on Social Security Disability you are eligible for Medicare, she can help with enrollment and to review your current plans she is also available to help anyone with life insurance.
