UTE INDIAN TRIBES COVID RESTRICTION: Per Resolution 22072 all Covid19 restrictions have been lifted, effective immediately including the Mask Mandate. The Mandatory Vaccination Policy is still in place. All individuals conducting business with the Business Committee are required to show proof of vaccination prior to entering

UTE TRIBE SENIOR PROGRAM:

Here at the Senior Center we have been enjoying the company of the elders who dine in or pick up meals, as well as come in and ask questions. If there is any questions or suggestions, you may have please don’t hesitate to call the center at 435.725.4282 or Doylene at 435.725.4288 or you may contact Acting Director Lelilah Longhair at 435.725.4890 or at 823.1217. We have 1 laborer so as the yard work request comes we are getting to them as soon as we can. No meals on August 01, 2022 it is a tribal holiday for the 1st Sundance. Reminder to please leave a cooler for the meal delivery to put your meals in or if you’re not going to be home please call the center. We still have vacancies with the department. EMERGENCY EMPLOYMENT: is in full operation. They are hiring Sundance workers. Must fill out a W-4 form, a 1-9 form and submit two forms of I.D. If you are interested in participating, contact Program Director Julitha Serawop at 435.725.4055.

UTE TRIBE RECREATION: announcements are as follows

- Open CO-ED Basketball Tournament August 26-27th, 2022. Ages 18+ Entry fee $175 and $80 deposit in needed to be put on the bracket.

- Utes Football Registration. Age divisions are 3 Ed-4th 5th-6th & 7th-8th Seeking coaches in all age divisions, application are available at the UIT Recreation Office. Any questions can be directed to Recreation at 435-722-2249. Or stop by their office

 

PAINTED HORSE DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM:

  • Strong Warriors Weigh Lifting Challenge Saturday September 3rd, 2022. Weigh in is at 8:00am-9:15am Competition starts at 9:30am. This will be located at the Painted Horse Diabetes Program. For more information, you may call 435.725.4913
  • Little Ponies Youth Day Camp. Ages 8 through 15 on August 1st to the 3rd 2022. Signups at the Painted Horse.
  • Meet with a Diabetes Educator First Tuesday of the month from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Painted Horse Building.
  • The Women Infant and Child Program will be every Wednesday from 9am-4pm at painted horse. For more information, contact Holly at 435725-4513 or 435-247-1192.

U&O IHS CLINIC: Has their vaccination and immunization clinic for all ages every Wednesday at the Wellness Center from I to

4pm. Please call 725-6815 to get on the clinic schedule. From now on all medication prescriptions will need to be picked up and electronically signed for inside the U&O IHS clinic at the pharmacy window. The pharmacy will no longer be able to deliver medications out to the parking lot. All who enter the IHS Clinic MUST wear a mask covering their mouth and nose.

- Certified Food Manager Training provided by the Indian Health Service Office of Environmental Health & Engineering. Training date is Friday September 16, 2022 at 8:30am-5:00pm Training location will be at the Ute Crossing Grill 7491 US 40 in Fort Duchesne UT. Advanced Registration is Required. ART EMPOWERS SUMMER CAMP: Monday August 1st to Thursday August 4th at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Whiterocks UT. Daily Schedule is 10am – 1:30pm. Camp kickoff Family Night & Food Monday August 1st at 6pm games and prizes. Hope to see your family there.

WATER SYSTEMS: Is putting a water restriction in place until further notice. No using culinary water to water lawns or livestock. Also a kindly reminder patron, DO NOT Flush paper towels, facial tissues, baby wipes, or flushable wipes. Flushing these items will cause issues in the sewer lines and septic tanks. Please only flush toilet paper ALSO - Trash cans need to be curb side by 7am; homes with two trash cans, place them a foot apart. There are dumpsters in the communities to accommodate larger items. U.S. 40 PROJECT UPDATE: The Utah Department of Transportation

(UDOT) is working on U.S. 40 in the Uintah Basin between milepost 125.3 (approximately 11285 East Randlett) and S.R. 88 through early summer. The speed limit has been lowered to 55 MPH through the project corridor to increase safety for both motorist and working crew. Please pay attention to all signage. Motorist can expect minor delays from 7am to 5pm. Monday through Friday. If you need to reach us with questions and concerns via the project hotline at 855-740-8740

Sundance Grounds East of Neola, Utah. Visitors, please let Chief Jerry Tapoof know if you need a stall pole Sunday. To continue the healing process, during the July Sundance, I want all of Our People to come and help put up the shade around the Medicine lodge. You can offer prayers for yourself and passed loved ones. Our Men Folk will set up the Main Lodge, the Women Folk and the Children will stand the shade trees around the Sundance Lodge. Everyone is welcome to be a part of this healing process. Let’s do this with NO Negative feelings or Superstitious thoughts. It is about Healing and Prayers for our People young and old. Northern Ute Sundance Workers Needed be at the Sundance Grounds Friday July 29, 2022 at 5 a.m. Of course, be Respectful of yourself and our dancers, if you are on your monthly cycle or pregnant stay away from the lodge.
