Friendly Reminder: Every Thursday to wear red to acknowledge The Missing and Murdered Native Women and Girls day!

If your department is wearing red, please email us the people who are cc and will come down and take your picture. Or feel to send your picture to us which ever you prefer.

We give a Big Thank you, to the departments that are supporting and wearing red.

UPDATE FROM THE PEES-CHU DAYCARE:

The Pee-Chu Daycare is taking application for the Summer Child Care for ages 6 weeks old to 12 years old. Space is limited-first come, first served. The Summer session will be starting on June 3rd .

Child Care Assistance is available for all Native American families. Eligibility is determined by: Household size and income. All children participating MUST be 100% Immunized. If you have a family friend or relative that can help you with child care-provider application are available.

UPDATE: FROM EAGLE VIEW ELEMENTARY:

Eagle View Elementary is having an Annual end of year Pow-wow, Thursday, May 16th at 1:00 pm.

We are seeking adult dancers who are willing to come to Eagle View Elementary to teach our students about the different types of pow-wow dances and the meaning of the dance they perform. This assembly will be broken up throughout the morning. Lunch will be provided. We only need one dancer per category for both men and women, so please let us know as soon as possible!

Summer School application is available for Grades 1st to 3rd grades and 4th to 8th grades.

UPDATE: FROM UINTAH RIVER HIGH SCHOOL:

Uintah River High School Basketball Banquet: Wednesday, May 15th at 5:00 pm, in the Commons Area,

We will present, Championship Banner, All-State Plaques, League shirts, Senior Gifts and Season Highlight Videos.

Players are encouraged to bring their families.

There are only 2 more Mondays left of this school year! In order for our students and staff to be ready for graduation ALL Apex (Credit Recovery) classes MUST be finished by Monday, May 20th . There will be NO exceptions made. Students may come in on Friday, May 17th from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, to work on any of their assignments and APEX. All grades must be passing in the students classroom class by May 22nd .

UPDATE FROM THE UTE TRIBE SENIOR’S PROGRAM:

May 16th – UIT Head Start Mini-Bear Dance, @ 10:30 am. across the pow-wow grounds on the west side.

May 17 – 20th , Fort Duchesne Bear Dance, Offices will be Closed Monday, May 20th .

May 22-23rd , - Ute Nations Day for those 70 yrs. and up, at Southern Ute Tribe, In Ignacio, Co. For those riding the bus, it will leave Wednesday, May 22nd at 10:00 am.

May 29th , - Ute Senior Health Day, starting at 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

June 11th – Annual Ute Elder Recognition Day, for those 80 years and over at 11:30 am.

Ute Senior/Caregivers: Stretching Routine For Seniors, Senior Balance and Strength Classes every Thursday, starting May 2nd at the Senior Center 2:00 – 3:00 pm.

Tuesday morning: will be Senior Massage after 10:30 to 12:00 noon.

All Ute Caregivers are encouraged and welcome to participate.

Exercises on Mondays and Wednesdays: from 1:15-2:00 pm. Points are being counted for participations prizes/awards.

Senior Crafts/Respite Program: has been doing all sorts of crafts, wreath making, fleece blankets, and many other seasonal decorations are to come. I have directed and require that all senior staff help do crafts or come up with idea’s, all crafts are done on site.

Ute Tribe Senior Title V1, Ute Caregiver Support Program for 2019-2020:

The Ute Senior Program is here to give support. We will be offering classes or events in coordination with other tribal program. Resite care for tribal seniors during these times at the Ute Senior Center from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Monday thru Thursday, plus lunch is provided at the center from 11:30 to 12:30 pm.

Meal Delivery: As required by Federal Grants guidelines, we cannot leave food outside your home, if you’re not going to be home, please call the Senior Office @ 725-4281.

Also delivery drivers are having problems with Dogs, please watch your animals, every mishap is reported to the UIT Executive Director.

For those needing chore work contact: UIT Building Rehab, UIT Water Systems, or UIT Maintenance. All these programs are here to try their best to assist.

UPDATE FROM THE UTE INDIAN HOUSING AUTHORITY:

ATTENTION ALL LOW RENT:

UIHA will be having a clean-up on May 20-24th , for Low Rent units. We encourage everyone to get out and clean your yards.

ATTENTION FROM UNION HIGH SCHOOL TUTOR/MENTORS:

APLUS RECOVERY CREDITS.

May 17th is the hard deadline to finish recovery credits for Seniors to walk at Union High School Graduation May 24th .

Please encourage your children to finish making up their past recovery credits over the weekends and after school.

Union High School Tutor/Mentors are available through email or work phone at (435) 725-4541.

UP-DATE FROM UTE TRIBE HEAD START PROGRAM:

Your invited to come participate in Head Starts end of the year event! May 22nd , at 10:30 am.

Which will be held at the Roosevelt Constitution Park.

We are encouraging all departments to come help us celebrate our end of the year celebration by sponsoring a fun enriched activity for children and parents. The activity sponsored can be educational, cultural, physical or safety wise. These activities are geared to help encourage families to be safe and fun during the summer.

You will need to provide your own table for your activity and we are asking all sponsors to be at the park and set up not later than 10:00 am.

EDUCATION UP-DATE FROM UTE TRIBE HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAM:

The Ute Tribe Higher Education Office is now accepting applications for those individuals who are planning on attending college this fall semester 2019.

Deadline for application: June 30, 2019.

UP-COMING COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAY:

Community Clean-day May 11th – 17th .

Community Members start to clean yards and identify old appliances that need to be removed. Place all trash bags on curbside or designated area for pickup. Clean up crew will start to pick up trash and old appliances. Please notify community presidents or Emergency Management Department for removal.

Bar-B-Q will be Wednesday, May 15th at noon.

Zumba: Mondays/Thursday at 5-6:25 pm. at Head Start with Mariah

Zumba: Wednesday at 5-6:00 pm, at Head Start with TJ

Step Aerobics: Mondays at 5:15 – 6:15 pm, at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building.

Body Weight Resistance Workout: Tuesday, at 5:15-6:15.

Garden Box: Plants will be given out the week of May 13th . If you already have a garden box, and want to participate in our project this year. You will need to fill out the plant application. Contact: Sandy @ 725-4911.

We are planning our Little Ponies Day Camp: for youth ages 10-18 yrs. old. We will be coming to the communities of Randlett, Ft. Duchesne, Myton, Whiterocks and would appreciate any volunteers in those communities to assist us.

Updates from Kateri Tewitha Mission:

Mass at Keteri Tewitha Mission every Wednesday at 5:00 pm, in Fort Duchesne, just North of the Blue Store.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Catholic Bishop will be doing a Mass for the Community at the Kateri Tewitha Mission in Fort Duchesne, July 14th , 2019.

Hooping Into Spring, Ironman Men’s & Women’s Tournament:

May 17 & 18, 2019.

Central Utah Camping and Hiking, Moab Arches/Goblin Valley:

Delicate Arch and Explore Valley 2019. Schedule for June 17th – 20th , 2019.

Opened to youth Boys & Girls ages 14-17, it’s a 3 day/9 mile backpacking trip.

(Food and most backpacking gear provided)

TRI-UTE APPLICATIONS DEADLINE MAY 23RD .

The Ute Recreation Office will be taking Tri-Ute Applications until May 23rd by 4:30 pm. this will be the final deadline, if your child would like a Tri-Ute bag they will need to be registered by this time. We will still take applications but do know that your child or children will not be able to get a bag but still may be able to get a shirt so please get your application in ASAP. This is not our deadline but it is one from the company what will be doing our bags. I totally forgot to put on Skateboarding as part of the games. If your kids want to Skateboard please call the Recreation Office.
