MOTOR POOL CHRISTMAS SHOPPING SPREE TRIP:

The Transit will be taking busses for the Annual Christmas Shopping Spree, leaving the Ute Plaza Friday, December 8th, at 10:00 am.

Return from Salt Lake Saturday or Sunday.

No Boarding Fee!

The Overnight accommodation will be at Country Inn & Suites in West Valley.

Group rate is $89.00. or at your own place of stay.

2nd Christmas Shopping Spree:

Leaving from the plaza Saturday, December 15th , and return from Salt Lake Sunday, December 16th , 2017.

UPDATE FROM UTE LANGUAGE CLASS:

Ute Language Class will resume on December 6th & 13th .,

Bring a potluck dish to share with everyone.

 

COMMUNITY UPDATES:

ATTENTION: Whiterocks Community is holding a Community Toy Drive for children in need that live in the Whiterocks Community.

We are seeking New unopened toys. Drop off sites are Painted Horse and Tribal EMS Station.

Deadline for all toys is Friday, December 15th .

Community President Quinn Serawop, is also working on the Whiterocks Youth Council.

There are 4-5 teens that are willing to participate. This group will plan activities and oversee community services and things throughout the year.

Whiterocks Community boundaries are Ridleyville, East bench and to the LaPoint Highway turnoff.

UPDATES FROM PAINTED HORSE PROGRAM:

FREE BREAKFAST WITH SANTA: Saturday, December 9th , at 8:30 am. At the Head Start Building.

Free gifts given to all the children.

Everyone’s welcome to bring the whole family and all your friends.

Elder’s workout sessions every Monday’s & Wednesdays, from 11:00 – 12:00, at the Senior’s

Center.

Zumba: will be Monday’s & Thursday’s at the Head Start building starting at 5:00 pm.

Toning class: Wednesdays, at Painted Horse starting at 5:00 pm.

UTE TRIBE SENIOR NEWS:

Wednesday & Thursday, December, 6th & 7th – Ute Senior Winter Bazaar, will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm, on both days.

There will be NO lunch serviced on these days.

Dec. 11th – Senior Employees Event – No Lunch Serviced.

Dec. 12th – Elder’s Christmas Luncheon.

At our annual Christmas Dinner we’ll be having a contest for the “Ugly Christmas Sweater”, there will be three places winners, this is for seniors 55 years and over only. Judging will start at 12:30 pm,

Remember: there will be limited home bound meals and NO take outs from the center on this day. Final Reminder: all paperwork need be too handed in, to our Secretary.

NOTE FROM ASSISTANT PROSECUTOR DESK:

Just a reminder: on the “Basic Law” class for the month of December.

You can pre-register at (435) 722-4675, or 725-4893, leave your name and number where you can be reached.

The Ute Tribe Prosecution Department cordially invites you to attend a Basic Law class each month on the first Tuesday’s at 5:00 pm.  At the Tribal Auditorium unless rescheduled.

It will be potluck so bring your favorite dish to share. Drinks will be provided.

Different topics of Law will be discussed each month to help you understand the basic fundamentals of Criminal Law.

We invite your comments and your participation. Let us know of issues and concern you may have in your community.

Recreation is now taking sign-up for Jr. Jazz basketball, for boys 8th-12th grades.

Sign-up deadline is Sunday December 31st.

Is now accepting application for the 21st Annual Natural Resources Youth Practicum, in Rio Mora National Wildlife Refuge in Waltrous, New Mexico.

The NAFWS Natural Resource Youth Practicum is open to all incoming 10th through 12th grades. (No cost to participating students)

STRATA NETWORK:

Strata Network is accepting application for an Experienced Equipment Operator.

Must have advance backhoe operating skills, will be digging around multiple utilities, including but not limited to, high pressure gas lines, fiber optic cable and electrical lines. Must also have adequate reading, writing and basic computer skills. A dig test demonstrating operating skills may be required.

Employer is seeking applicants for an experienced well test technician. Prospective employee must have the following qualifications to apply.

1-year verifiable experience with high pressure flowback and well testing operation, knowledge of operating high-pressure gas lifts/compressors and jet lifts/triplex pumps, Class A CDL with tank endorsement, preferable but not mandatory. We are willing to train the right candidate.
