“Good Morning”, My friends and Relatives.

ATTENTION: FROM UTE TRIBE ADULT PROBATION:

A final meeting is called for today, September 5th at 2:00 pm. at the New Justice Building Probation Conference room. We will need final donations submitted at this time along with any outstanding raffle tickets that are currently being sold. Tickets are $1.00 each with some great prizes. This is a family event and we would like everyone to come out and support the positive cause on combat of drugs and violence with our Ute Country.

Painted Horse will also be hosting a Fun Run/Walk.

Aaron’s has donated 10 cases of water for our event thanks to Kay Black for getting the word out, now let’s see what our own departments can do, we can’t promote this alone so let’s be a team and fight the fight!.

COMMUNITY NEWS: RANDLETT COMMUNITY MEETING NOTICE:

A Community meeting will be held Wednesday, September 6th at 1:30 pm. In the Tribal Administrative Building Auditorium for the upcoming Tribal Transportation Program (TTP) project UOIR 22(3) Randlett Streets. This meeting will update the residents and interested parties on the design progress, and How this design issues, that were discussed in the August 2nd meeting will be addressed. This meeting continues the opportunity for discussions on how this project can best serve the needs of the community. The meeting will be conducted by TTP staff and representatives.

REMINDER: Whiterocks Road Construction will start Tuesday, September 5th , on the West side of the Community. Construction should be completed come November 1st , If weather permits.

UP-COMING UTE INDIAN TRIBE SUICIDE PREVENTION CONFERENCE:

Suicide prevention conference will be held at Ute Crossing Events Center, Thursday, September 14th . Registration: 8:00 – 9:00 am, Conference starts at 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. Lunch will be provided. Guest speakers: Beau Washington, Larry Cesspooch and Jeramie Tubbs.

Are you concerned about a family member or friend? Are they suicidal? Let them know “It’s okay to ask for help”.

UPDATES FROM PAINTED HORSE PROGRAM:

Wednesday, September 6TH Quill Club: will be starting again, they’ll be meeting every Wednesday’s at 5-7 pm., at Painted Horse Diabetes Program.

Saturday, September 9th – Poker Fun Run/Walk, starting at10:00 am, from Bottle Hollow.

Saturday, September 16th – Super Hero Fun Run/Walk, at 10:00 am, starting at the Fort Duchesne gym to the Plaza and back to the gym. Run/Walk as your favorite super hero, so dress up and we hope to see you there! Light snack and water will be provided.

Sunday, September 24th – Glow Fun Run/Walk, at Painted Horse, time to be announced closer to this event, but it will be in the evening.

Please be aware of event may change. All our activities are free to the communities.

UTE TRIBE SENIOR NEWS:

Tuesday, September 26thUte Seniors will have a Indoor Yard Sale, & Bake Sale. from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, at the Ute Senior Center.

Table/Chair will be provided for Ute Seniors who want to sell their new or semi-new used yard sale or bake sale items only (space is limited)

Monday’s & Wednesday’s – Senior Exercise, at 11:30 am

Senior Meals Service for 55 yrs. & Over:

Meal Service at the Ute Senior Center is from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Monday thru Thursday, except on Holidays/Tribal Events.

Home Deliver Meals: for 55 yrs & Over:

This service is for those whom cannot leave their home due to illness, please call if you are not going to home due to appointment, so we won’t deliver your meal.

Ute Tribe Senior Title VI Transportation for 55 yrs & over:

All those needing transportation must call ahead to schedule times from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm., Monday thru Thursday. Except on Holidays/Tribal events. 

For all medical transportation: please contact, the CHR office for assistance.

For all other assistances:

Ute Water Systems: 722-5176, for Water Problems

Ute Bldg. Rehab: 722-1255, For all chore maintenances, grass cut, trash, etc. And some appliances,

Ute Maintenance: 722-2256, for home problems and all electrical problems,

REMINDER: Once again, this program NO longer handles Maintenance related issues/problems contact one of the above programs or call Administration.

We haven’t had a Senior maintenance crew available here at the Senior Center, since October 1st , 2014 to the present 2017.

Winter Heating Program:

The Ute Senior Heating Program (Resolution 98-247):  pays for Winter Heating costs only from the month of October to February, Currently we are out of Funds until this coming October 2017.

UP-COMING UTE INDIAN TRIBE 2ND VEHICLE AUCTION:

2nd Vehicle Auction will Start: August 29th and end September 14th .

These vehicles can be seen Monday- Thursday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. at the compound located east of Home Building Rehab.

Vehicles will be sold as is! , Tribal members only!

Your sealed bid must include:

Money Order in the amount you wish to bid. Must surpass minimum bid. Make money order out to: Ute Indian Tribe.

With your name, address or telephone number and unit number (located on the drivers side window of vehicle) place unit number on the envelope.

Turn sealed bid into the Treasury Department.

OPTION: if you want to make down payment, you must submit half of your bid. You will have (2) months to pay remaining balance in full. If you decide you don’t want the vehicle, you will get your money order back and vehicle will go to the next bidder.

 

UP-COMING FUNDAISER FROM RECREATION:

Fundraiser for Lil Utes Football, Night Golf

Friday, September 8th , 2017.

Night Golf, 4 Man Scramble Tournament, at the Roosevelt Golf Course.

Cost: $200.00 per team, this includes Cart/Green Fees, 6 Golf Balls & Dinner.

Check in at 7:00 pm, Start time 8:00 pm. Sign-up at the Recreation Office.

Dinner at 6:30 pm. Participants will need to bring a flashlight.

We have Free Development Evaluation for children, birth to 3 yrs. Old.

UPDATES FROM THE UTE TRIBE ENTERPRISES:

Ute Crossing Trading Post:

We are making some changes with Ute Crossing Trading Post, this includes new store hours. We have also decided to move Buying Days from every Thursday to once a month and will be conducted at the Ute Tribal Enterprises Admin. Office. Our next buying day is September 21st from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

LAYAWAY Plans: Plans need to be paid in full by Friday, September 1st , Items will return to stock if no payment is posted. NO Refunds will be given for expired/terminated layaway.

New Store Hours: Closed Saturday thru Monday. Opened on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.

I want to take this time and Thank everyone for all their help during the July Sundance.

The Emergency Workers, Departments , Council, and the Youth who came out to help and learn about the Sundance, and all families and my family for their support and the food. I believe that our youth need to learn about the mean of Sundance and our ceremonial ways. I wish everyone a good year and we’ll see everyone next year again.
